The Alaska Avalanche Information Center hosts statewide avalanche bulletins, advisories, and snow, weather, and avalanche observations of avalanche practitioners in Alaska working at the avalanche industry standard as defined by the American Avalanche (AAA) and Canadian Avalanche (CAA) Associations.

We are professional members of the AAA and/or CAA. We hold AIARE Level 3 and/or AAA AvPro and/or CAA Level II Operations training.

Our participating avalanche forecasters work as mountain and heli-ski  guides, ski patrollers, for industry (highways, electricity, mining, communications), for the cities of Juneau, Valdez, and Cordova, for the National Forest Service, for Alaska State Parks, and with mountain and backcountry rescue groups.
