Tamar Young has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, is an avalanche forecaster with Alaska Avalanche Specialists and an avalanche instructor with the Alaska Mountain Safety Center. He is a mountaineering instructor and lead rigger with the Sitka Mountain Rescue group.
