Elise was born and raised in Valdez. She is an avid outdoors woman, and instructs the Women's Backcountry Travel Weekends. She has a degree in Geography, her Canadian Avalanche Association Level I, and has finished H20's Heli Ski Guide School.

Elise has works the industry contracts which fund our avalanche center, is a biathlon competitor and a commercial fisherman. She is a pilot and travels from Fairbanks in her own airplane.
