Women's Backcountry Travel Weekends

Get your girlfriends together and come on out! Whether you travel on skis, snowshoes, or snowboard,  recognizing avalanche terrain and hazards are paramount to your safety and enjoyment in the winter backcountry.  Join our all-women weekends to learn and practice your backcountry skills. Workshop format to expand on previous avalanche classes and experience.

ALL WOMEN - ALL FUN! 

Weekends begin with a Friday evening classroom session 6-9pm, PWSCC Training Room. Saturday and Sunday are full field days, 8:30am-5:30pm.

Students who take this course will learn to:
  • Plan and prepare for travel in winter backcountry.
  • Recognize avalanche terrain.
  • Apply effective companion rescue
**A basic avalanche education class is recommended prior to attending the weekend, but is not requisite.**

Equipment:

Bring your winter backcountry travel gear: touring skis, snowshoes, or split snowboard. Avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel are required for field days.
