AIARE Level 1: Decision Making in Avalanche Terrain
AIARE Level 1 is a 3 day introduction to avalanche hazard management focusing on creating options and making
informed decisions for travel in avalanche terrain. The major themes
emphasized in this course are: terrain selection, planning
and preparation, human factors, and effective companion rescue. Anyone
exposed to avalanche hazard can benefit from this course.
